Question #3
When you think about how you “engage the world,”
which best describes you?
When you think about how you “engage the world,” are you more Altruistic (serving others) OR more Individualistic (attending to yourself)? Click the “Altruistic” button if you are more altruistic OR the “Individualistic” button if you focus more on self.
The gauge below illustrates how individuals can vary in their "degree" of preference for this "domain." You may be an A1 or an A3, or an I2 or I5 based on whether you think you barely, slightly, generally, heavily, or extremely lean in that direction. Feel free to give this some thought as it will be important later.
Engagement is the last stage. Once we have perceived the world and constructed meaning, we then choose to act. We engage the world through our chosen behaviors. This is the most complex of all human activity as that behavior represents our conscious and subconscious values. In essence, we engage in a range of behaviors that focus either on ourselves (individualistic) or others (altruistic). However slightly, we do lean in one direction.
