Question #2

When you think about how you “process the world,”
    which best describes you?

When you think about how you “construct the world,” are you more Holistic (big picture) or more focused on Details?  Click the “Holistic” button if you focus on the "big picture" OR the “Detailed” button if you focus on details.

The gauge below illustrates how individuals can vary in their "degree" of preference for this "domain."  You may be an E1 or an E3, or an L2 or L5 based on whether you think you barely, slightly, generally, heavily, or extremely lean in that direction.  Feel free to give this some thought as it will be important later.

Construction follows perception.  Immediately after taking in new information through our senses, we begin to process that data.  Studies in the field of psychology have taught us a lot about human cognition.  Once the new information is filtered, we do our best to store what we need later.  One constant in how we do that is “chunking.”  Human beings tend to group data into larger, and preferably related, units.  Some prefer to focus on the discrete parts (detail) of that data while others appear to be wired for the bigger picture (holistic).  Some describe this as "seeing the forest versus seeing the trees."
