Here at AltruTek, we evaluate and support a wide range of applied and advanced technologies which directly address anthropogenic (human-influenced) problems. We do so within the emerging framework of “effective altruism,” where we advocate the use of evidence and reasoning to determine the most effective ways to benefit others, in the least amount of time. This requires a shifting balance of mind and heart, giving donors increased levels of confidence that their contributions will result in maximum and immediate impact toward precisely targeted problems.

Humanitarian Demining Goal
AltruTek is currently focused on grants and partnerships to help rid the world of lethal unexploded ordnance. Landmines, grenades, and a long list munitions remain perilously close to populations around the world. Our efforts support funding the work of UXO mapping teams equipped with ArroTech's GEON E61 drone and metal-detecting system. This unique groundbreaking system is capable of safely and swiftly pinpointing the locations of surface and subsurface UXO. Our current operations are active in Ukraine with global expansion moving next to Syria, Mexico, and other nations challenged with these deadly remnants of war.

Effective Altruism Can Bring About a Safer World
AltruTek is a nonprofit motivated by compassion at it works to combat problems resulting from human activity. It recognizes that humankind’s capacity for inhumanity to man demands a heart-centered response from peace-loving people. But within that compassion is the recognition, too, that AltruTek will achieve its maximum impact only be efficiently and effectually making the contributions it receives go as far as they can.
Accountability to all donors is paramount. AltruTek relies on scientific reasoning and data gathering to determine the most effective ways to carry out its vision of helping to create a safer and smarter world for all.
To that end, AltruTek is working closely to advance the work of ArroTech, which has engineered a purpose-built autonomous drone and metal-detector capable of pinpointing the locations of landmines and other unexploded ordnance buried throughout Ukraine. AltruTek had been instrumental in helping ArroTech get its system into Ukraine and demonstrate its effectiveness to observers there. These are important step toward ridding Ukraine of insidious, unattended weapons of war.
